Morganton Point Recreation Area

Located on the shores of Lake Blue
Ridge 1/2 a mile from the town of Morganton, this rustic campground
contains 43 campsites, 8 picnic sites, a pavilion and a boat launch
ramp. There is a designated public swimming area with a lifeguard on
duty during the summer camping season, and a boat ramp. No showers or
hiking trails are located within this recreation area, and electricity
is available only in the bathrooms.

From Blue Ridge take Hwy.515to Ga. 60 (or
more scenic old US 76 east and south of town to Lakewood Junction.
Here GA 60 and US 76 join,) with GA 60 continuing as the designated
main road south and east to Morganton. It is approximately 5 miles
from Blue Ridge to Morganton. The drive is on old 76 is scenic, crossing
the TVA dam with a splendid view of Lake Blue Ridge to the southwest.
Also between the dam and Lakewood Junction is a U.S. Forest Service
boat launch ramp near Lakewood. At Morganton, look for the white-on-green
sign to the recreation area on the right side of the road just before
the road turns east and south. Morganton Recreation Area is located
off Lake Drive.
