This falls along with Blue
Hole Falls is located on High Shoals Creek in Towns County. Hike
down steep trail to High Shoals Creek and then down stream for a total
of about a mile and follow trail through rhododendron, deep woods,
and walk bridges over small rushing creeks. The first observation
platform. is Blue Hole
Falls. The trail continues to High Shoals Creek Falls as you approach
to falls, the incline becomes steeper. The State Park has installed
wooden steps to make the climb easier. This has also protected the
under story that grows from the rocks. The climb for this short stretch
can be rated as strenuous but our 3 year
old had no trouble with the walk, soon you'll come to the second observation
platform. From high up the mountainside, High Shoals Creek shoots
out of the laurel and hemlocks as a 50' long cascade that drops into
a 40' fall down the rock face.
