What is RSS? How Does it work?
RSS feed readers and news aggregators let you follow
news and blogs easily, comfortably and efficiently in a dedicated program,
on a web site or in your email program. RSS is an XML-based format that
allows the syndication of lists of links, along with other information,
that helps viewers decide whether they want to follow the link. RSS
allows a person's computer to fetch and understand the information,
so that all of the lists that person is interested in can be tracked
and personalized for them.
It is an alternative means of accessing the vast amount
of information that now exists on the world wide web. Instead of the
user browsing web sites for information of interest, the information
is sent directly to the user. You no longer have to log onto a site to
get updates with a RSS reader you can have it delivered to you when
an update is available on one of the subjects you are watching and
look at it when you have the time.
To subscribe to my feed first download a reader, I have
one listed below or choose your own, then click on my RSS/XML icon
below, highlight the feed address in your address bar of your browser
and paste it in your reader. It will display the links in a readable
format and notify you when I add new articles. That's all there is
to it!
Here's a free reader for your desktop: FeedReader290Setup.exe
